The Kickstarter campaign for Marrying Mr. Darcy - the Pride and Prejudice Card Game has picked up in the past few days. The stretch goal for the Undead Expansion Pack was reached in record time! This game does a really fantastic job of breaking a complex story like Pride and Prejudice down to a singular concept, that is, a woman needing to get married in Austen’s contemporary England. This might seem like a silly concept to some, but much of a woman’s future was dependant upon whom she wed. The Austen story explores, critiques, and ultimately reconstructs the system women lived in. Furthermore, Marrying Mr. Darcy does a great job identifying and breaking the game down to a single concept which is both true to the book, while also fun and engaging. (Read More)

A new Pride & Prejudice card game, Marrying Mr. Darcy, created and designed by Erika Svanoe (with an art and graphic design provided by award winning illustrator and graphic novelist, Erik Evensen), is a strategy card game for 2-6 players based on Jane Austen’s classic novel “Pride and Prejudice.” The game involves two groups of people from the book.
