Life on (Veronica) Mars: Kristen Bell commences filming fan-funded TV classic for big screen update
The TV show Veronica Mars may have been sadly cancelled in 2007 after three years on air.
But the show's star Kristen Bell was not ready to say good bye to the character forever - and with the help of £6 million raised by fans is currently rejuvenating the show for a one-off big screen special.
The 32-year-old mother-of-one used a Kickstarter appeal to get the funding to bring her favourite role back to life.

Life for Mars: Kristen Bell has started filming a big screen adaptation of her best TV role ever
And filming is now underway for Veronica Mars the movie - due for general release in 2014.
The original show - which ran from 2004 to 2007 - featured Bell in the titular role playing a student who went from high school to college, all the while also acting as a private investigator.
Fans were dismayed when the plug was pulled at the end of the third season due to falling ratings.

Nigh scenes: The actress was spotted filming after dark in Los Angeles on Monday for the 2014 film
However those left disappointed by USA network UPN were quick to rally behind the actress when she appealed for funds to recreate the show for the big screen.
With $5,702,153 raised in a matter of weeks, the show was given a green light to get remade - and also became the fastest Kikstarter project to reach $1 million, then $2 million within 10 hours.
The fundraising also broke another record as it became the Kickstarter with the most individual backers - clocking up donations from 91,585 donors.

Leaning in: The pretty blonde looked very comfortable to be back on set in her trademark role

Learning lines: The actress studied the script as they filmed scenes for the big screen adventure
'I have never fallen so deeply in love with a character,' Bell told Entertainment Weekly when the Kickstarter campaign began.
'We all became so close, and the cancellation of the show left a huge hole in my heart. I would have put on Veronica Mars: The Circus to bring it back.'
Details of the plot of the film version remain under wraps, however there had been plans for Veronica to join the FBI in an unrealised fourth series.

Reunited: The cast and crew all came together to ask fans for help to bring Veronica Mars back to life
As filming commences in Los Angeles, not much can be seen from the night shoot featuring Kristen driving a convertible.
At most, fans can tell she has retained her sharp dressed style and drives a smart car.
The film is directed by Rob Thomas - who directed two episodes of the original run, as well as writing all 64 episodes (his other writing credits include Dawson's Creek and recently cancelled 90210).
The film cast will also feature Krysten Ritter and Leighton Meester - with Kristen's real-life husband (and father of her less-than-three-month-old daughter, Lincoln) Dax Shepard rumoured to make a cameo.

Enthusiastic: Kristen is clearly loving the fact that she gets to play Veronica again

Do the hoola: The actress has been goofing around on set between takes
Taking to Twitter before recording scenes, Kristen showed she had been re-familiarising herself with her character.
'First day of school...I might be a bit over excited?,' she said, tweeting a picture of herself with some Veronica Mars memorabilia.
Later, during a break in filming, she also tweeted: 'A break on the #VeronicaMarsMovie set for me. So obviously, I'm trying out this weighted hula hoop,' with a picture of the funny girl trying out the hoola.

Back for more: Kristen Bell played Veronica Mars in all 64 episodes of the original TV show which ran from 2003 to 2007
