Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes has been pushed into Q2 2024, 505 Games and Rabbit & Bear Studios have announced. The game was originally pencilled in for a 2023 launch.
Posting on Kickstarter, Rabbit & Bear Studios revealed that βthe decision was made in order to ensure the best possible story, and to reward the legion of [Kickstarter] backers with the best game experience possible.β
Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes drummed up $4,541,481 across 46,307, which made it the third highest-funded video game in Kickstarter history β only Shenmue III and Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night pulled in more funding.
The game is directed by Suikoden mastermind Yoshitaka Murayama, and is often referred to as a spiritual successor to Konami’s classic franchise. The game is described as an “ode to the classic JRPG genre from the PlayStation era that will feature classic JRPG exploration and battles in high-resolution 2.5D graphics, pixel-based characters, a story of war and friendship, a diverse cast of 100 unique heroes to join the protagonist’s endeavor, and a fortress building system to grow their army.β
Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is due for release on PS5, PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One in Q2 2024.
