If you were hoping to play Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes in 2023, unfortunately, you'll have to revise that expectation, as the game has been delayed.

According to the announcement made on Kickstarter, the highly-anticipated JRPG will now launch in Q2 of 2024. We hear that the decision to delay the game was made "to ensure the best possible story, and to reward the legion of backers with the best game experience possible."

To make the pill a bit easier to swallow, we get a new video (which you can watch directly on the Kickstarter post). It shows the current state of development, and it certainly looks really sweet.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes will come for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. In the meanwhile, fans already enjoyed a taste of the world of the game with the action-JRPG spin-off/prequel, Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising, which was widely well-received by many fans.

The game is being created by a team of JRPG veterans led by Yoshitaka Murayama, creator of the Suikoden series. It was funded in 2020 via a Kickstarter campaign that raised over $4.5 million, marking one of the most successful video game campaigns of all time on the crowdfunding platform.

Recently, the fans have been asked to vote on what they would like from DLC content

Full disclosure: the author of this post has backed Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes on Kickstarter. As a matter of fact, he literally scrambled to do so on day one, because he's a massive fan of the Suikoden series and this kind of game absolutely needs and deserves all the support it can get. He's also not upset at all about the fact that it has been delayed, mind you.
