Developer Kong Studio has launched a Kickstarter campaign for Rayless Blade, a pixel art RPG inspired by modern classics such as Hyper Light Drifter and Undertale. Taking place on a vast island with plenty of secrets and dangers, the game puts you in the role of a protagonist with no recollection of his past – however, as you soon find out, there’s a lot more to your affliction than mere amnesia, and so, you make it your mission to uncover who you are and exactly what happened to you. Rayless Blade features colorful pixel biomes paying homage to Hyper Light Drifter’s aesthetics, as well as tense, turn-based battles with dynamic elements in the vein of Undertale, where you’ll have to skillfully dodge the various attacks and projectiles that are continuously hurled at you. The Kickstarter campaign is currently hoping to amass its initial goal of $15,000 – once that’s done, there are multiple stretch goals planned, including a boss rush mode, a Switch port, and even an expansion of the in-game world.
