LAS VEGAS – Reds, the adventure game successfully Kickstarted by the independent game studio Double Fine, will appear on the Kickstarted game console Ouya – the only television platform on which the game will appear.
Julie Uhrman, Ouya's CEO, made the announcement at the DICE Summit in Las Vegas on Wednesday afternoon. She added that the next game from Paul Bettner, one of the founders of the studio that created Words With Friends, will also appear on Ouya.
Both projects got their start in 2012 on the crowdfunding website Kickstarter. Reds, pitched as a classic point-and-click game from the creators of Psychonauts and Brutal Legend, was the first breakout hit game on the service, drawing $3.3 million in funding. Ouya raised $8 million a few months later.
