Dean Trippe has smashed the goal on his Something Terrible Kickstarter.
Launching on January 2, the campaign to release a print edition of the acclaimed autobiographical comic has raised 150% of its $6,400 (£3,897) target within the first 36 hours.
Something Terrible, which launched last autumn, dealt with the abuse Trippe suffered as a child and how his love of superheroes helped him to overcome his trauma.
The comics creator is planning a 36-page print edition of the title with an initial run of 2,000 copies.
"Since making Something Terrible available last fall, it has quickly become the most widely reviewed and highly acclaimed work I've ever released," Trippe wrote on the Kickstarter campaign page.
"I've been incredibly honoured to find my very personal story so well regarded in and outside of my creative community, but more than that, I've been humbled and awed by how many readers around the world related so strongly to my life story, and found new solace in reading it."Incentives include digital editions, supplemental material, signed copies and a chat with Trippe on his podcast.
The Something Terrible campaign will close on February 2.
