It’s been a few weeks since the last crowdfunding robot roundup. We’ve moved cities, from Moscow to London, and have been busy with all sorts of robot, tech and other fun. And my scan of this weeks robot crowdfunding scene has lots of cool robot projects including an artificial intelligence cube, a pocket drone, a cute and helpful shopping assistance robot and a few other projects looking at the potential of robots to change our lives, hopefully for the better. Drones are becoming popular these days and we have seen recently one during CES 2014 (Parrot’s mini Drone and Jumbo). The U.S government is yet to give approval for drones to fly officially and that had already placed a barrier over Amazon’s unmanned drone to deliver good to its customers. However, while the copter could conceivably be stuffed into a backpack, doing so might be a little ... awkward. That's why the guys at San Diego-based AirDroids created the Pocket Drone. It squeaks in under the $500 mark and is made to carry a GoPro, but it also folds down for easy transport. What's more, its battery runtime is about twice that of the Phantom. (Read More)
