Since the start of the blowout Kickstarter campaign, Loftia takes the $500k crowdfunding mark and furthermore offers its developer’s limited-range multiplayer powerplay some additional information to followers about its most recently unlocked stretch goal and the entire game.
The latest update to the Kickstarter release introduces a rundown of games’ part-timer feature – which lets players take part-time jobs in in-game locations such as the boba shop, the bakery, or the study café. Gameplay will focus on running errands and serving meals to visitors. Both minigames, described as the evolution of the basic advanced cooking minigame that was unlocked earlier as a stretch goal, are described as a change of the main purpose of the game.
When a Kickstarter post is held, the theme of the competition is to feature a full set of artwork that artists use for the arts and dances of the project. Les participants have until August 21 to offer their work, and then they will narrow to a top 30 selection, that is voted on by Discord during the week between July 22 and 26. Winners will get their artwork featured with full credit in the game’s official art book and a free Kickstarter Art Pack tier plus a Whale Turbine plushie.
In my opinion, the studio has compiled a livestream recently held by Qloud Games and has converted it into a PDF format. Some of the answers include briefs on how the thrift store and housing expansion features will work, confirmation that it plans to enter early access on Nintendo Switch in 2025, plans for the most pledge tiers as standalone purchase on the gaming site once crowdfunding ends and few details on soloability and multiplayer project gameplay.
Qloud Games also discusses how it plans to achieve its ambitious MMO-related goals with a large team while still making a profit. It assures that its team has technical knowledge, the right tools and an internal application that will make Loftia happen, and even references an earlier blog exactly about the move to creating a MMO.
