The Bluetti EP500 is an insane power station on wheels

Being able to work from home is absolutely amazing for those who can take advantage, but there’s a potential problem with a much-larger electricity bill. What if we said there was something you could use to keep your electric bill down while still using your devices like normal? What if that product had built-in wheels and could be taken anywhere you wanted to go?

That’s where the all-new Bluetti EP500 and EP500 Pro come into play, as these power stations are designed to handle all of your needs, ranging from keeping a desktop computer and monitor powered for hours, or just to have a power station for that week-long camping trip in the great outdoors.

Bluetti EP500 and EP500 Pro Specs

EP500 Features

The Bluetti EP500 features the largest battery that the company has ever used in a power station, coming in 5100Wh, while providing an uninterruptible power supply, and can even be controlled with the accompanying app. Although these power stations are much larger than others that you’ve seen, Bluetti managed to keep the noise down so you don’t have to be bothered by the EP500 and EP500 Pro working its magic for hours on end.

One concern when looking for a new power station is how many ports are available, as you likely will want more than just two or three. Well, you’re in luck with the EP500 and EP500 Pro, as you’ll find the following ports:

  • (4) 120V AC
  • (2) 12V/10A DC
  • (2) USB-A
  • (2) USB-A w/ Quick Charge
  • (2) Wireless charging pads
  • (1) 100W USB-C
  • (1) 12V/30A RV

With this many port options, you and your family or friends will all be able to keep your devices powered and charged with the Bluetti EP500 and EP500 Pro. But what about actually charging the massive LiFePO 4 battery in this power station? Well, there are a few different methods you take advantage of here. In addition to charging via a wall outlet, as you might normally do, these power stations can be recharged via solar panels and will take up to about 5 and a half hours to go from 0-100%.

The EP500 is limited to being able to make use of a 1200W solar panel charger, while the EP500 Pro can make use of dual 1200W solar panel chargers, providing up to 2400W of power. The EP500 Pro has the added benefit of being able to be charged with 1800W of power from a wall outlet, which will recharge the power station in under 4 hours, along with being able to use a car charger if you’re in a pinch.

So everything seems pretty much perfect with the EP500 and EP500 Pro, right? There’s really not much of a catch here, as Bluetti thought about everything and every situation that someone could need to make use of one of these power stations. That brings us to the life cycle of these power stations, as Bluetti rates its LiFePO4 battery for more than 6,000 life cycles, meaning that your EP500 or EP500 Pro will last you for years to come.

As for the aforementioned application, it’s available on both iOS and Android. The app will allow you to monitor and control the power stations from anywhere, while providing notifications on how much power is being used. You can even create charging profiles in order to make the most out of the 5100Wh battery. You don’t want to end up with a dead power station because someone was using it when you weren’t expecting them to, so the app makes all of this easy, including downloading and installing any future firmware updates.
