It's made by the same people who made Jamstik+, which was basically a Guitar Hero controller without the game to help you learn the guitar. AirJamz makes no such promise - you won't learn chord progressions or key changes, but you will be able to pretend you're an axe star.

Inside is an accelerometer that responds to how you move it. Fire up the app on your smartphone, pick a song from one of those offered, and you have to move the AirJamz in time to keep the guitar playing.

You can also use it to trigger sound effects, and you can add other players and jam along together.

Educational? Hell no. Fun? Indeed. Which is quite refreshing, seeing as every other wearable around is hellbent on making us get fitter and achieve our goals. Whatever happened to just rocking out every now and again?

It's on Kickstarter now. If it raises its goal, it will ship in August. Pledge $39 (£28) and it can be yours.
