Divinity: Original Sin II’s Kickstarter is officially underway today and it’s off to a good start.

Developer Larian Studios is asking for $500,000 USD to help fund Divinity: Original Sin II and as of this writing, it has secured over $250,000 toward its goal.

According to its Kickstarter page, the studio is funding the sequel but has ideas they hope to “stretch further” then its budget allows.

“Our hope is that your pledges will enable us to increase the freedom and depth that will be present in the final game,” the developer said.

The developer recently responded to reaction to its announcement for a Kickstarter campaign for Original Sin II.

Divinity: Original Sin II is a single-player or co-op RPG, featuring turn-based combat and taking place “generations” after the first Original Sin game. Up to four players can play cooperatively, or competitively.

“During competitive questing, you’’ll pursue different plot-lines from other players, often because your personal motivations are in conflict with those of the party.”

Original Sin II will also feature a new dialog and crafting system, as well as a Skill Crafting system, allowing players to combine skills and spells for new upgraded abilities.

Larian Studios’ Kickstarter Campaign still has 34 days to go. Any backer over the $5 amount will receive alpha and beta test access, according to the studio.

Divinity: Original Sin II will release on PC. No release date has been given, but an estimated delivery date is listed as December 2016. Check out screenshots and artwork from the game below:
