With less than two days left in its Kickstarter, Castlevania successor Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is now the most funded video game in Kickstarter history.
Bloodstained tops $4.25M, becomes most funded video game in Kickstarter’s history
As of this writing, Bloodstained, the development of which is being led by Koji Igarashi, has raised more than $4.25 million. The Kickstarter ends at 11 p.m. ET on June 12. Its initial goal was $500,000.
If the game’s funding hits $4.5 million it will get a prequel mini-game for PC and consoles. At $4.75 million it will get the prequel for portables and at $5 million the game will include roguelike dungeons.
Already, Kickstarter stretch goals have unlocked a Wii U and Vita port of the game as well as an online challenge mode and slew of other add-ons.
In Bloodstained players take on the role of Miriam, a woman whose skin has been fused with crystals that give her special abilities. The game achieved its goal of $500,000 in a single day.
The game is now expected to launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Wii U, Windows PC and Xbox One.
