Apple may have bought Beats by Dre, but that's nothing compared to the lesser-known things happening with headphone and earphone tech. Listen up for hearables -- wearables made especially for your ears.
In our latest Mobile Minute video, we take a look at how playing music is only a fraction of what ear tech can do.
Sensors in the Kickstarter smash hit Bragi Dash earbuds are more effective at monitoring biometrics, such as your heart rate and blood pressure, than fitness bands. Plus, they can count your steps and measure your blood oxidation levels.
Another successfully funded Kickstarter hearable is the Earin -- also know as the world's "smallest wireless earbuds" -- whose objective is to provide the greatest amount of sound in the smallest package.
A final winner is the Glyph headset, which looks like an ordinary pair of over-the-ear headphones, but lets you flip down the headband for a personal retina display.
