A Kickstarter success story, The Banner Saga has been out for nearly a month now via Steam. The wait for a completely DRM-free version of the strategy RPG comes to end today, however, as Stoic begins notifying its backers.
Stoic promised some time ago that a DRM-free version of the game would be released, and the download is being provided to game backers. Just be sure to check your email. If you didn't donate while the Kickstarter campaign was still active, then you can still grab your copy on Steam for either PC or Mac.
The Banner Saga is a unique hybrid of strategy and role-playing game, introducing us to a fictional universe inspired by Norse culture. In a world where the sun has halted in the sky and terrifying dredge are invading the land of varl and man, you must guide armies to safety and victory.
Honestly, we love the game, and highly recommend it to anyone who digs a challenge with a side of story.
