FlatOut developer releases 10-year-old racing prototype
According to the developer’s post, the prototype was the foundation for its physics engine today. The demo has never been shown publicly, and it’s not the “sneak peak technology demo” of the developer’s current title.
“The prototype is a little rough around the edges, but it served as an initial actualization of our vision for a reckless racing game, and despite the humble beginnings, it later grew into a game franchise loved by millions of fans,” the post reads.
The prototype is available as a free download on the Next Car Game’s Kickstarter page. Watch the video above to see it in action.
Bugbear Entertainment launched a Kickstarter campaign for its next racing title on Nov. 1. If funded, the game is set to launch in May 2014.
