Unless you’re a sitcom dad from the ‘60s, mowing the lawn is not fun. It’s boring, it’s loud, it makes you smell like sweaty grass dirt, and it requires you to spend some 30 minutes in a slightly hunched position while pushing a barely-mobile wheeled tank incredibly slowly. Unlike vacuuming your carpet, which many have claimed to be oddly cathartic, mowing the lawn has yet to be automated in a way that’s effective. After all, your average lawn mower is a bit more sophisticated than your average vacuum cleaner. But now, Hong Kong-based startup company Airseekers has created the Tron, an automated robot lawn mower that clips your grass without you having to do any of the hard work.

Launched on Kickstarter, the Tron uses artificial intelligence to map your yard and learn according to your instructions so that it mows precisely where it’s supposed to, unlike GPS-based mowers that aren’t as reliable. Using its 6 built-in cameras, the robot mower has a 360-degree scope and smart obstacle avoidance, which you can set up via the phone app. The app also lets you easily select and deselect areas and zones that are off-limits, and you can start up Tron from anywhere in your house.

If that’s not enough, the robot lawn mower also has an auto-mulching feature, which leaves behind the grass clippings as it goes for a cleaner look for your lawn. Other features include the 30-degree inward omni wheels for sharp turning and the ability to climb slopes at 65%. Not only can it reach up to 1.5 acres of yard but the small profile of Tron allows it to fit into smaller nooks with ease.

If you’re interested in the Tron AI-assisted robot lawn mower, head over to Kickstarter now, where early-bird prices start as low as around $1,299.
