Submitted Question:
Do you think the increasing number of games released is a good thing or a bad thing, does it benefit diversity or make it harder to find the gems – and has the role of a reviewer become more important, due to their ability to separate the wheat from the chaff in a public manner? Congrats on the one year anniversary! I’m happy with what you’ve been putting out. 🙂
I really enjoy the Game of Crowdfunding! I do hope you and Richard can get back together to do it. Otherwise, pick me, pick me!! 😀
Great interview with Jamey! He’s definitely a role model of what to do right with Kickstarter. He’s really a great guy and I look forward to Euphoria and any future games they make.
Aw…thanks for the shout out Jeff and Jamey! 😀 I do hope you enjoy our LEGO segment. Please let us know if you have any suggestions for improvements. I know we went a little long for this second segment. We’ll try to tighten it up next time.
Manhattan Project is a lot of fun! Definitely recommend the Nations expansion, and I’m looking forward to the Second Stage expansion that should be out soon.
King of Tokyo rocks! Especially with the expansion – once we got the expansion, we haven’t played without it!
I’ve got a goal this year to play all our new games at least once, but also to try to balance in replaying games. So far, I’ve been doing reasonably well, according to the Geeklist I made to track this: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/151652/2013-resolution-playing-my-unplayed-played-games
I think it is both a good and bad thing that there are more games on the market. It is giving people more options and allowing designers to try new things to reach more niches. It is much harder for consumers to decide what to buy/support and reviewers are being relied on a lot more to help make that decision. For Kickstarter specifically, projects live and die by the reviews that are done on the game. I’m with Jamey, I rely on several reviewers to help me decide. It takes more than one review to help me make a decision, if I haven’t already made one.
Another great episode! Can’t wait for the next one!
