Developer Stairway Games has fulfilled the dreams of fans by announcing the 1.0 full release for its island farming game, Coral Island. Releasing on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 on November 14, 2023, you’ll be able to clean up the island, make friends with mermaids, and discover hidden secrets. The release date for Nintendo Switch has, unfortunately, been pushed back to 2024. Here are all the details about Coral Island’s full release.
Beginning as a Kickstarter project in 2021 to add more content, Coral Island was fully funded within 36 hours. After completing the 30 day long campaign, they earned over 1.6 million towards expanding the game. From there it entered Alpha phase in July of 2021 and early access on Steam in October 2022. With resounding success, Stairway Games has continued to work on their offering towards the full release.
Coral Island 1.0 Content
With the upcoming release, you may be wondering what content is going to be available in the 1.0 version of the game. Included in the announcement are what the content will consist of.
- Main storyline to revitalize the town.
- NPC friendship, romance, marriage, and ability to start a family.
- NPC seasonal outfits and bathing suits.
- House customization and decor (both interior and exterior).
- Pets, including mythical pets.
- Eight seasonal festivals complete with their own mini-games.
- Diving depths up to 50m and ocean clean up.
- Merfolk Kingdom and NPCs.
- All elemental mining gates.
2024 Roadmap
Along with the content coming in the full release, a roadmap for 2024 was put forth. Next year will bring more interactions with Merfolk, including their own storyline, festival, and romance. You’ll also be able to do ocean farming, have savannah ranch animals, island hoping, and more. Many of these inclusions are stretch-goals met during the Kickstarter campaign.
