Remember when we covered Darren Hupke's 32 Bit Library: Volume 1, which gave you a game-by-game account of Capcom's incredible PlayStation output? Well, Hupke is back with a second volume, this time focusing on the fantastic work Namco achieved on Sony's 32-bit console.
32 Bit Library: Volume 2 - Namco's PlayStation is a "chronological retrospective" of the company's PlayStation releases between the years of 1995 and 2001. It will comprise of over 236 pages of content and will feature over 600 screenshots. You can expect to read about all of Namco's 32-bit smash-hits here, including Tekken, Ridge Racer, Ace Combat, Time Crisis and more.

With a rather modest goal of just $4,400, we'd be amazed if this doesn't hit its target – but, to be sure, you might want to head over to the Kickstarter page and lay down some cash.

Thanks for this! I’m the one making the book so if anyone has questions, AMA! I’ll come back and reply if anyone posts.
@darrenhupke This book (and the Capcom one) look cool. I've been building a collection of books about game history, especially ones cataloging and evaluating the games themselves. Do you have them available for sale somewhere or is it only available through kickstarter?
On a different note, I imagine this is an awful lot of work - do you put these together on your own? Do you have any issues getting permissions, etc? Or is it basically a fair use thing? I ask because I've been thinking about trying to put together a book cataloguing Zelda-clones, which is one of my personal gaming obsessions lol.
@MSaturn The books are all Fair Use classifications. I rebranded the first book from "Capcom's PlayStation" to get out of some obvious legal areas. I actually sent the first to one to the US Copyright office and got it registered, sharing I don't have the copyright to the screenshots, but to the construction and written work within.. I am not using anyones logo's or branding, and the screenshots are just a small sample of the games basically for review purposes, so it seems to be all clear.
You can buy the first book digitally directly from me here:

You can also get the digital copy, or physical copy, as an add-on for the Vol 2 Kickstarter, too.
It is a ton of work to do, but it is really fulfilling and rewarding. I am motivated by milestones and progress. I self-taught myself how to use InDesign for the construction of the book, I have some basic Photoshop skills, I feel I can self-teach myself a lot with internet access. Learning along the way and scrapping and rebuilding it did happen, but it turned out awesome and set me up to make an even better follow up.
Reach out to me on social media if you ever get around to wanting to put together your book. We can exchange emails and I would totally share what I did and how I did it, and help in any way.
