Hatsune Miku Expo 2023 VR Concert Kickstarter is Open

Crypton Future Media opened up a Kickstarter for a free Hatsune Miku Expo 2023 VR concert that would take place online. If it reaches its goal, the concert will take place in October 2023. The goal is $303,758 and as of 3:50pm ET on February 6, 2023, it passed $151,000. The Kickstarter will end on April 5, 2023.

The reason why Crypton plans on making this an online concert is due to the prevalence of COVID-19. It would be difficult for international guests to travel to Japan, and the increasing number of cases within Japan would limit how many attendees there can be. Crypton already held free online concerts in the past. If the Kickstarter reaches its minimum goal, then there will be 12 songs at the concert. Stretch goals will add in more costumes and songs. At the maximum, there could be 15 songs.

Most of the pledges offer rewards such as your name in the credits and merchandise. You can get an exclusive T-shirt, for example. Some of the higher tiers include perks such as deciding on what effects the concert will have, so this Kickstarter campaign offers fans the chance to help in organizing the concert. Pledging 75,000 JPY ($564.90) will allow you to color in a MyMiku 3D model. That 3D model will then show up on stage during the concert. If you pledge 100,000 JPY ($753.20), Miku will shout your name in the credits

The Kickstarter for the Hatsune Miku Expo 2023 VR concert will end on April 5, 2023.
