BLUFFTON, Sc. (WTGS) – A Bluffton man has created a simpler way to remember your face mask when going out in public.

It is called Hide-A-Mask and it is a normal hat with a retractable mask built-in under the bill.

Creator Tim Hickman says he had the idea in April and launched the product on Kickstarter about 10 days ago.

He says they have already sold about $26,000 worth of Hide-A-Mask hats and that the idea was inspired by simply trying to remember to grab his mask.

"Three weeks ago, it was like, ‘Well, this store requires a mask and this one doesn't,’ and you kind of don't know, do I use it, do I not use it? Do I bring it, do I not bring it? So, I think the hat-like solution is like, ‘Man, you're wearing your hat. Your mask is just at your fingertips,’" Hickman said.

Hide-A-Mask will remain on Kickstarter for another week and a half, then move to hideamask.com.
