The Office may have officially ended back in 2013, but its popularity has only increased since then. Not only are fans still obsessed with the hilarious show and its bevy of colorful characters, but the cast seems to be still enamored with the show as well. Former cast members of The Office have even created podcasts where they speak about the iconic show in detail.

But podcasts aren’t the only things that The Office cast has been dreaming up. Many of the talented actors have shared that they would love to reprise their role in a reunion special or a reboot. One cast member, Leslie David Baker, who played everyone’s favorite curmudgeon and pretzel lover, Stanley Hudson, has even dreamed up an idea for a spinoff series.

‘The Office’ cast member, Leslie David Baker is creating a new series

Fans of The Office have questioned Baker about Stanley for years. Whether he’s out in public or at Comic-Con, they want to know what Stanley’s been up to, if he’s enjoying retirement, and if she’s still “Florida Stanley”. The questions got so persistent that Baker began imagining what Stanley might be up to in 2020. This resulted in the idea of a spinoff series called Uncle Stan. But just what is the premise for this idea?

“After enjoying his retirement in Florida, carving wood, enjoying the white sand beaches, and dancing to old disco, Uncle Stan (Leslie David Baker) gets a call from his nephew Lucky in Los Angeles asking for help with his two kids and running his motorcycle/flower shop,” a statement on Kickstarter about The Office spinoff reads. “With his business failing, his kids growing up without enough attention, and on the brink of losing his patience with the cast of characters he has working in the shop, Lucky is going to need all the help he can get from no-nonsense Uncle Stan.”

‘Uncle Stan’ has surpassed its funding goal

The aforementioned Kickstarter, which boasts a $300,000 goal, is to raise money for the pilot episode of the show. Baker has shared that he has already garnered attention from some huge networks and they’ve expressed interest in the show. On July 23, 2020, Baker announced via Instagram that Uncle Stan had already surpassed its goal on Kickstarter. Currently, The Office spinoff has raised over $310,000.
