Simulation games might be a niche genre in the gaming community but there's no denying the genre's success. Some do, however, feel similar to others but Moonlit and PlayWay are breaking free of the traditional simulation mould with Deadliest Catch: The Game. Based on the wildly successful Discovery TV-show Deadliest Catch, that has been running since 2005 and is on its 15th season right now, the upcoming game will have players find the best fishing spots by being strategic during the high and most dangerous fishing season.

You'll be taking control of the captain of your rig, set out onto the treacherous Bering sea and catch as many king crabs as you can to fill your quota within a set time frame while experiencing changing, sometimes harsh (and even dangerous) weather in a day/night cycle. You'll also be managing your crew and go through and pick suitable crabs to sell to get rich from your hard labour.

Deadliest Catch: The Game launches on Steam Early Access in November of this year with PlayStation 4, Switch and Xbox One releases planned to follow at a later date. If you can't wait for the early access release, every Kickstarter backer will get a code for a demo version of the game within 24 hours of backing. Sound interesting?
