Pinoy-made RPG 'Grand Guilds' gets funded on Kickstarter, PC and Switch releases seen

"Grand Guilds," a fantasy RPG being developed by Philippine game developer Drix Studios, received 100% of its Kickstarter funding in around 50 hours.

The game will be available on PC and Nintendo Switch, then PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at a later date.

"Grand Guilds" is a story-driven tactical RPG with a battle system merging elements of classic turn-based combat with card combat mechanics. The game also boasts a diverse roster of heroes and villains; a huge world ripe for exploration; multiple quests; illustrated, visual novel-style cut scenes; partial voice acting; and an original soundtrack.

Up since April 10, 2019, the Kickstarter campaign for "Grand Guilds" already reached its US $12,000 goal on April 12, just before midnight. Despite its achievement, "Grand Guilds" continues to receive funding.

It has already reached its first stretch goal, which has unlocked the "Sky Pirates" feature. This means as your heroes explore the map on their airship, they can get attacked by airborne pirates.

Another US $30,000 is needed to unlock the next stretch goal, which gives each of the nine playable heroes more skill cards to use in combat. Reaching US $40,000 will make the "Bond" system available, which allows your heroes to form deeper, personal connections depending on their choices in battle. The stronger the bond between characters, the more bonuses they enjoy.

Naga City-based Drix Studios will self-publish "Grand Guilds" on Steam. Fellow Philippine game developer/publisher Keybol Games will publish it on the Nintendo Switch.
