The Kickstarter for developer's inXile Entertainment title Torment: Tides of Numenera went live today at 6 a.m. with a goal of $900,000. The game reached that total in just six hours and has since nearly reached $1.5 million. There are still 29 days left in the Kickstarter.

"You’ve got to be freaking kidding me!! We just funded in six hours!?!?!," said inXile founder Brian Fargo. "Our heads are still spinning at the incredible response we have had from today's support of our Kickstarter campaign."

"We had plans to roll out our stretch goals and to write our Kickstarter updates but never in our wildest dreams did we think we would fund this quickly!!!," he continued. "We are joyfully scrambling right now to get a longer update and some stretch goals in front of you as soon as we can."

Torment: Tides of Numenera is a spiritual successor to Planescape: Torment. The game will be a single player role playing game. The game will be released for PC, Mac and Linux in December 2014.

This is the second successfully funded Kickstarter for inXile Entertainment. The other game was Wasteland 2 a year ago. It took that title two days to reach its $900,000 goal. The game eventually reached more than $3 million.

Just wondering? Is there any need for the same news reported by different authors? Who approves this?

Wow. In the future you guys think these Kickstarter games could end up on PS4/720? They are basically closed-down PCs so ports should be easy.

Screw PS4/720! I want these games on my Vita on the go! That would be massive.
